These are simple models, not really optimized – still they might be useful to mix into other plant populations. The files are available in following formats: *.obj, *.vob, *.tgo, *.c4d, vray for *.c4d, *.blend.
German digital botany software company Laubwerk announced their fifth collection of render-ready, realistic 3D trees designed specifically for CG artists and architects. Moreover, Laubwerk has updated the Plants Kits to 1.0.12. The new Plants Kit 5 as well as the updates of Plants Kits 1-4 and of the Plants Kit Freebie are available immediately for 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, and Python (Windows).
Plants Kit 5 is an impressive collection of temperate coniferous tree species planted in parks, gardens, or forests including excellent specimen trees for lawns such as eastern white pine, Japanese larch with good autumn color, and popular ornamental and live Christmas trees.
This tutorial will show you several approaches to create a convincing clump of grass. Cinema4D, Xfrog 3.5 and Xfrog 4 were my applications of choice, but you should be able to follow along with other 3D software too.
